Formic acid  spirit (50 ml)  for prevention and treatment varroatosis bees. Instructions for use of concentrated formic acid at Varroa bee 1. General Characteristics  1.1. Formic acid, density 1.2126 g/cm3, colorless liquid with a pungent odor, boiling point 100,8 ° C, the melting temperature 8,4 ° C. 1.2. To handle the bees affected by Varroa, applied technical formic acid type A (the highest and first grade) and grade B, GOST 1706-78, as well as formic acid reagent grade (pure for analysis), GOST 5848-73 in a concentration of 86.5 - 99 , 7%. Evaporation acid in the hive should be about 10 ml / day. 2. The order of application  2.1. Formic acid is used to treat a bee with Varroa used in ambient temperatures from +14 to +25' 'C in spring (after the mass fly-bee), and in the summer-autumn period (after the evacuation of honey). 2.2. Formic acid was placed in colonies in the spring twice at an interval of 12 days for a period of 3-5 days, and once in the autumn for 3-5 days. 2.3. During the treatment of bee colonies with formic acid in the hive top notch must be open. 2.4. Formic acid is used in plastic bags the size of 20x30 cm, flat bottles with neck diameter of about 2 cm or household plastic lids 9 cm  2.4.1. Packages in cardboard plate put 2-3 15 x 25 cm, 3-5 mm thick and poured therein 30-50 ml of formic acid. After soaking plates throughout acid package is closed, double bending its upper edge. Prior to use in packages doing a 1-3 holes (depending on the strength of the family) with a diameter of 1.5 cm, and then they are placed on top of the hole sotoramki down and closer to the rear wall of the hive. Under the package enclose two wooden frames  2.4.2. Poured into vials 30-50 ml of formic acid which is inserted into the twisted gauze wicks thickness corresponding to the diameter of the neck. The treatment of bee colonies was performed as follows: a hive lid removed, heating pad, lap and fumigate bees with smoke from the smoker. Filled with formic acid pack, bottle or cap placed in the hive, as specified in paragraphs 2.4.1., 2.4.2., 2.4.3., Then put sotoramki lap, insulated and close the hive. 2.6. Honey obtained from bee colonies treated, used in food with no restrictions. 3. Precautionary measures  3.1. When working with formic acid precautions shall be: to work open to any past special instructions, handling bees carried out in lab coats, rubberized aprons, rubber gloves, goggles and respirators; packaging of conduct in a fume hood or outdoors, avoid getting the drug to the skin , clothing and eyes, after work clothing should be removed, hands and face thoroughly wash and rinse your mouth with water. 3.2. After contact with formic acid on her skin wash off immediately with plenty of cold water and then with soap and water. 3.2.1. In case of poisoning with formic acid to spend copious lavage with water, take into egg white or mucous broths, seek medical advice immediately (injected camphor, an isotonic sodium chloride solution intravenously 10 ml of 10% calcium chloride), emetics are contraindicated.
