ITEM DESCRIPTION: This is a used PT-3000 Cordless 12 Volt Blind Riveter, manufactured in the USA by Fastening Systems International (FSI). This tool does NOT include the factory battery charger and I have provided a substitute. Please read the details below. This powerful rechargeable electric tool is heavily used by the military, aviation, and automotive industries for vehicle repair, and can be used in a wide variety of applications. This great tool is arguably one of the best such electric hand power tools in the world. It is essentially the same tool as the Emhart POP MCS 5800 and the Gesipa AccuBird tool manufactured in Germany, and is manufactured under license by Fastening Systems International (FSI). However, the PT-3000 incorporates many more nosepiece/adapter options than the AccuBird, making it much more versatile. The PT-3000 generates 1,900 lbs of pulling force. It will install virtually all CherryMax ® (M7885), Avdel®, Cherry Monobolts ®, Cherry Interlock®, Huck MagnaLok®, Blind Bolts and Pop type rivets and other fastener types as well, with the appropriate nosepieces and jaw sets (NOT INCLUDED). Using an available 2-piece adapter, the PT-3000 is compatible with a wide variety of Cherry and Olympic/Allfast pulling heads. There is also an available 2-piece adapter for special straight, offset and 90 degree CherryMax pulling heads (pulling heads and adapters ARE NOT INCLUDED). This listing includes the PT-3000 tool, NiMH battery, substitute 12 Volt charger, standard F143 nosepiece for 1/8” – 3/16” rivets, nosepiece wrench which fits into a slot on the side of the tool, and detailed operating instruction manual. The manual shows you how to use all the many nosepieces, pulling heads, and adapters available for this tool for many fastener applications (NOT INCLUDED except as noted above). PLEASE NOTE!!!: When I acquired this tool, it did not come with a battery charger. I have substituted a Porter Cable model 8501 12 V battery charger. I consulted with an FSI technician who confirmed that this charger is compatible with the FSI branded NiMH 12 V batteries. The 8501 is NOT a fast charger! I tested it and it will charge this battery in about 10-12 hours. The green light illuminates when charging, but it does NOT indicate when charging is complete. So, while this is not a perfect solution, it does work and you can use the tool just fine. If you’re going to be using this tool heavily and pulling a lot of rivets, then of course you’ll want to have several batteries and purchase the factory fast charger. The retail price of this PT-3000 tool with the included accessories is about $1000. The tool has some cosmetic nicks, scuffs, stains, and scratches from normal use. I charged the battery and tested the tool on a few CherryMAX rivets and it pulls strongly and works great. The battery appears to charge up just fine but I have no way of knowing how much life it has left. The battery is in great physical condition, so my guess is that it has not been put through too many charging cycles and has a lot of life left in it.
