A modern steel and Masonite press for small books. Sells new for $249. This one is scratched but working. (Every time you set the brake, you scratch the column. Can’t be helped.)  This press is missing its top board and the steel disc that distributes screw pressure. If you plan to press several books at once, you will also need Masonite middle boards. All these parts are available online from Gaylord, or from Demco’s website. They are not cheap, but this used press is, so you should come out far ahead. Baseboard measures about 12” x 7” and is 3/8” thick. Referred to by the manufacturer as “Arboron®”, it is the solidest and most attractive Masonite I have ever seen. The column stands 14” above the tabletop and allows for pressing a stack of books and boards as high as 10” from the top of the baseboard.  Net weight a little over 6 pounds. Claimed to exert “several hundred pounds of even pressure” for drying books after repair.  In effect, a very efficient vise for clamping all sorts of broad surfaces. Photos show actual item. Anything not shown is not included in this sale. Speedy Priority Mail to U.S. addresses.  Prompt dispatch, usually by next post. Sorry, no international shipping of this overweight item.
