GE Ericsson M/A-Com Orion D2UHG7 Mobile 2 Way UHF Radio, 100W 440-470 MHz Works Product Details: GE Ericsson M/A-Com Orion Mobile 2 Way UHF Radio Set Surplus to the needs of the State of New Hampshire This set radio set was removed from service as a part of an equipment upgrade program at the New Hampshire Department of Transportation and other entities within the New Hampshire State government (see my other listings for more of these). This set includes the following components: Ericsson Model D2UHG7 main unit, 100W, 440-470 MHz, UHF band, remote mount scan, switchable, conventional mode Mounting bracket 19B802673P1 for the above unit (screws not included) GE Mobile Communications KRY1011632/12 control head unit, 4 button, Scan GE Mobile Communications or M/A-Com or similar mic, the sample shown is an M/A-Com MC101616V1 R3A Mic Hanger (screws not included) Mounting bracket for the control head (screws not included) Ericsson 19A149590P1 speaker or similar, typically with a modular plug on the end of the cable, but sometimes the cable may need to be spliced to the communications cable if cut during removal from the vehicle it came from (it was fully tested though). Mounting bracket for the speaker (screws not included) Model 802554P3 cable for interconnecting the main unit with the control head, with yellow power wire attached (may have been cut short during removal and may have an inline fuse attached if not cut off). Model 802554P6 communications cable with modular connectors to speakers (may need to be spliced to the speaker if cut during removal as noted above regarding the speaker). Model 802622P1 power cable with plug that attached to the main unit. This cable was typically cut short during removal and may be quite short, so you may need to supply additional cable and/or an inline fuse and/or splice cables for your installation. At the minimum, you will receive the proper plug and enough cable to splice to. Items not included: antenna cable, connectors, or antenna, screws, nuts or bolts. See the picture to see what sort of antenna connector is on this unit. Testing Procedure: I tested this and all the other radio sets I am selling from this program in the same way: I connected two units to power and made sure they first powered up, and then transmitted and received between each other on all programmed frequencies. I also verified that the speaker worked, and that the button lights came on, and that the display was good. All are programed to operate on 450, 460 and 470 MHz. Research indicates this unit can also operate on 440 MHz if programmed to do so (look online for resources to learn how to do this). I also found that these radios work on 3 groups (groups 1, 2 and 3), and that a radio broadcasting on Group 1 will communicate with another radio operating on a different group, as long as each radio is on the same frequency. I didn't go beyond the above testing to see about any of the more advanced functions, mostly due to inexperience and a serious lack of time (testing alone took days to complete). Because I always used the same power cables to test each radio, the power cables you will received were not tested but are expected to be functional (assuming you replace any fuses if needed). During testing of all the radios in this program... I did find some radio components that were non-functional (I will list them in a lot for those who want them for parts), so if you are considering buying from someone who hasn't tested their radio, you may receive one with problems of one kind or another. Physical condition: Although many of these units are quite nice, you should expect dust, dirt, grime, soiling, and cosmetic wear and tear such as markings, scratches, scuffs, oxidation, and so forth on this set from previous use in vehicles like plow trucks. Some of the switch covers may be loose due to broken tabs. Mic cables may be a bit stretched. See other notes above regarding the power and speaker cables.
