I do performance tests on two (very) different kinds of products, scuba gear and ECG machines. When finished with tests of particular items that I bought for the tests, I often resell them to recover some of the funds for buying other equipment and supplies. The item in this auction is a GE Marquette MAC 1200. It came from my comparative testing of standard, medical-grade resting 12-lead EKG machines. Several photos, with legends, are shown below, after the main description. The MAC 1200 is, in my opinion, one of the best ECG machines ever built. It remains one of the most popular ECG machines and has been one of the workhorses of the industry, including for testing by the FAA for pilots. It is portable, with a carrying handle, which makes it perfect for taking to different locations. It takes up little storage space in a physician's, dentist's, veterinarian's, instructor's, researcher's, or other user's office, lab, or exam rooms. Here is an opportunity to get one at a reasonable price! One of the nice, unique features (of which there are many) of the MAC 1200 is that the axes are printed on the printout in a circular plot -- see image below. Of the many ECG machines that I have tested (over many years) and currently have on hand (around 20 different brands/models/vintages at present), this is one of my favorites. If I could only have one standard, stand-alone ECG machine, this is the one I would keep. I am reluctant to let it go. However, I have too many ECG machines that I'm testing in my research lab, have to move forward, and have to sell ones that I've finished testing in order to recoup some of the funds and purchase other machines and supplies for further testing. I am starting it at a low bid to make sure it sells. This one comes with everything you need, is cleaned and tested, and is ready to take out of the box, plug in, and use, including most of a pad of ECG paper in the paper holder plus two packages of adhesive skin electrodes. (See photos below for details.) You can run many ECGs with what is provided and have plenty of time to order further supplies if needed. This unit includes the measurement and interpretive options. It does not include the modem connection (which most persons do not use and are not interested in). The MAC 1200 has two batteries, the main battery for power when not plugged in plus a clock (or CMOS) battery that keeps the time and internal workings set and running, like in computers. Both performed well in my testing and appear to be in good condition. The unit being auctioned here has been cleaned, tested, and is in excellent working shape, including the printer. It should work well for years to come. The only signs of use are a few cosmetic scratches from normal past use. It would be suitable for a physician/dentist/veterinarian office, clinic, hospital, medical student learning, EMT, sports medicine, various types of ECG / ECG training, research, or educational purposes, and perhaps for other uses such as home monitoring, community health care, elderly homes, or in wellness and exercise facilities. What you get: the MAC 1200 ECG machine with paper and batteries as described, patient cable/acquisition module/lead-wire set (with wire organizers to help keep the different wires organized), alligator clips (two options, see image and information further below), hospital-grade power cable, and two new packages of adhesive skin electrodes, tab style, 100 per package (good for 20 applications [can do multiple runs per application] with these two packages ... before needing to get more of your own). The adhesive skin electrodes are slightly outdated (2014-09) but still work good and can be used normally or for practice and learning until the buyer gets more. When it is first turned on, it goes through several self tests, as shown on this photo of the start-up screen display, plus details on the software version as shown in the next image.
