Offered here is a General Radio 1656 Impedance Meter. This portable, self-contained benchtop impedance meter was GR's top-of-the-line unit, and has an impressive array of features: Measures C / D, L / Q, R, and G Internal 1kHz oscillator and 1.5V DC source Fast lever balancing with 4-digit display of L/C/R/G 0.1% basic accuracy Provision for external DC bias (up to 600V), external AC oscillator (20Hz-20kHz) Jacks for external AC balance capacitor, detector, and DQ adjustment Easy-to-read null meter Flip-top base becomes protective lid for travel/storage Powered by 5 D cells Typical superb GR build quality This nice, clean unit is in excellent condition, has been refurbished, thoroughly tested, works fine, and is in a good state of calibration. The fourth photo shows it measuring the 95pF capacitance of 3-foot cable with banana connectors. The fifth one shows it measuring a GR 1409-T 0.1uF Standard Capacitor with exact known value of 0.100122uF, nulling at 0.10015uF, easily with spec. Dissipation factor is similarly accurate, as are the other functions and ranges in both AC and DC bridges. It comes with a clear-sleeved condensed operating instructions printout, and new batteries have been installed. I can supply a PDF of the op/service manual upon request.
