MONSTER Glass Dewar, Kontes-Martin, Others   For sale- a very large glass dewar.  I have FIVE available to start with, all of them different, price is for ONE!  Your choice, subject to prior sale.  Two of them are mounted in what appear to be homemade tables but could easily be removed and the table discarded.  Actually those two dewars might be the same but the additional “stuff” with them is different.  The other three come just as you see them, nothing but the dewar itself.   The first one pictured is the largest at about 44 inches long overall and 43 inches inside.  As you can see the inside diameter at the mouth is about 9 inches, which then shoulders in to about a 6 inch ID.  This dewar is branded Kontes-Martin.  It is impossible for me to say if this thing is new or used, let’s just err on the cautious side and call it used in excellent condition.  There were some pieces of foam and plastic inside the thing, but I don’t know that they didn’t get there while the thing was sitting around in storage.   The next one pictured is actually slightly longer, at about 48 inches overall and maybe 46 inches inside.  But that one is only about 4 inches ID so it isn’t nearly as big overall as the first one.  It does have an attached aluminum flange, for mounting it I suppose.  The flange is about 9 inches in diameter.  There is another larger plastic collar beneath that, but I have no idea what purpose that might serve.  This one is marked “Heli-Dewar”, which is also a Martin product.  Their website says that it is “Heli-Dewar® processed to lessen helium permeation into the vacuum space by a factor of ten.”  So presumably this one at least is designed to hold liquid helium instead of liquid nitrogen?   The third dewar pictured is much smaller, only about 33 inches long overall and about 3 inches ID.  The last two dewars, mounted in the plywood tables, are also about 33 inches long but about 6 inches ID at the mouth before shouldering in to a smaller diameter at the point where it goes through the shelf underneath.  I do not see a brand name on them anywhere although the ones in the tables I might find something when I remove them.   If you want the table mounted dewars you are more than welcome to the table as well, but given that that would necessitate freight shipping I am guessing you might be better off building your own table at your end rather than paying to ship these.  You are also welcome to the other stuff mounted with them if you like.  The one on the right in the picture of both only has what I would describe as a manifold mounted to the table above the dewar.  The other one has a much more elaborate mulit-probe thing that goes down inside the dewar.  Because of the height of the trailer inside I can’t pull it all the way out to get a picture, but will as soon as they are unloaded.  The knobs on this apparatus are branded Nuclear Products, but I don’t know if that is just the valves or the entire assembly.   None of these dewars have been tested in any way, but I assume that as long as they aren’t broken, and from my observations they are not, then they should be functional at your end.  Other than getting them to you in one piece they are sold without warranty.   However, IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it.  Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases.  Accepted Best Offers are strictly an as is sale, no returns allowed.  Return would be for a refund of the purchase price, not including shipping costs, and the dewar would have to get back to me in the same condition you receive it in.  If they are damaged in transit I will need notification within 24 hours of receipt, NO EXCEPTIONS!  After that I can only assume that you dropped it.   Just so that we are clear on that, this is an item that has not been thoroughly tested.  As such it may work fine or it may have problems, so any purchase entails a certain degree of risk.  If you Buy It Now your risk is limited to the shipping costs both ways.  If you submit an offer you do so knowing that you cannot return it.  In either case it is up to you to decide whether the risk level is acceptable to you, and if not you need to pass on this particular item.   Please check out my other listings for more interesting lab, test, and optical equipment.  Check back often!   Sold as is, as described, as pictured.  Potential buyers are asked to please make sure you have read the listing carefully, and understand what you are buying.  Ebay’s condition codes for used items, which I am now required to select from, might imply a degree of functionality that my limited time, knowledge, and facilities do not allow me to ascertain.  If the functional condition of the item is known it will be stated as such in the listing.  Unless a warranty is specifically offered returns are not accepted regardless of any implied functionality.   You are also encouraged to visit my “ME” page, where my terms, conditions, and philosophy of doing business are outlined.  I don’t think anything there is outside the bounds of normal e-commerce, but they are binding on the transaction.   Payment is expected within 7 days of the close of the sale and I need to hear from you within 3 days to confirm the transaction.  Because of the weight and bulk of the item I have chosen to let ebay’s shipping calculator figure out the cost based on your zip code, but that is for the largest of the lot.  If you want one of the smaller ones please let me invoice you for it before you pay.  If you want the tables then again, the shipping would be via freight and substantially higher.  Given the unusual size and shape it may take several days to come up with a box suitable for shipping them in.  I assume you would rather wait a few days than to receive them broken into a million pieces, please be patient.
