Contact the seller if you would like to receive copies of either of these documents via email, contact the seller at Virginia Industrial Surplus, LLC 804-475-0767 This equipment is being offered as is, loaded onto the buyer’s truck in Richmond Virginia. 1.0 scope The purpose of this document is to describe the complete operation of the automated process control system for the Pallet Washing System manufactured by Girton Manufacturing Co. Millville Pa The Pallet Washing System is designed to clean pallets and other miscellaneous items. The dirty pallets are manually prepared and rolled into the washer on a cart. The control system then allows the operator to select the desired wash cycle. The system then controls and monitors the complete washing operation including all valves, pumps, instrumentation, alarms, and reports. Under normal conditions no operator interaction is required throughout the wash cycle. The control will notify the operator that the cycle has completed, allowing manual removal of the clean equipment. The control system includes a PLC (programmable logic controller), OIT (operator interface terminal), printer, and all instrumentation and control equipment necessary for a complete functioning system. 2.0 SYSTEM overview Refer to system P&ID and installation drawings in conjunction with this overview. The pallet washer consists of a pass through cabinet with doorways leading in on one side and out on the other side of the washer. Safety switches on each door are hard wired to disable all pumps, valves, and motors if the doors are not closed. An emergency stop switch is located on both ends of the washer. The washer is filled with water. The bottom of the washer serves as a tank to hold the water. A steam heating coil in the bottom of the washer is used to maintain the temperature of the circulated water. A 10 Hp vertical pump is used to re-circulate the water through the spray jets. Both the wash and rinse use the same system, composed of a reciprocating header system with spray jets designed to cover all areas of the items. Instrumentation includes tank water level, water and dryer temperatures. A dispensing pump is included for the wash detergent. A rinse aid will be pumped in prior to the final rinse. The final rinse is completed with recirculated water. The drying system consists of a 3 hp high volume tubeaxial fan that re-circulates air through steam coils and the washer cabinet. An exhaust fan including a manual damper will be provided. It will exhaust 800 CFM to a ventilating system or to the outside. A 12” diameter vent collar will be provided.
