The patterns are the result of color (gouache) floated on plain water, and then carefully transferred to a sheet of fine paper. Marbled paper, as a decorative material has been used to cover a variety of surfaces for several centuries. It is often employed as a writing surface for calligraphy, and especially book covers and endpapers in bookbinding, restoration and stationery. But could be used for origami, collage, framing, box covering, tag creation, ACEOs (Art Cards, Editions and Originals), greeting cards, invitations, as a wallpaper and home decor items.
