This anesthesia machine is high quality and was sold for $7900.00 in the 90s. Veterinarians and users love it. The unit has been completely refurbished and rebuilt, and all components come with a 5-year warranty. This includes plastic parts, which other manufacturers may not cover in their warranties. When shopping for a new or used machine, be sure to read the warranty closely to see what it covers. The main components of this machine, the vaporizer, and absorber, are made by Ohmeda, a company known for human anesthesia machines. Some important features of this machine include the TEC 5 ISO Vaporizer, which is highly accurate at all flows from 100cc to 4L. It is easy to remove from the machine with a twist of a lever and simple to service or swap out for a Sevo vap. The GMS absorber has a horizontal pop-off valve that does not stick due to moisture buildup. It also has a quick-release lever for removing the absorber canister and is made of one piece, so it won't break or get damaged if dropped. The rebreathing bag swing arm is positioned anywhere you like and is super strong, so you can even pull the machine around by it. The ventilator selector valve allows you to switch between a ventilator and the rebreathing bag without any hoses to disconnect or connect. The high-pressure relief valve prevents over pressurization of the absorber in excess of 20 cm H2O, which is great for when a user leaves the pop-off valve closed (although that never happens!). The O2 flowmeter has a dedicated stop, so there is no need to over tighten the shut-off valve and damage or break the needle or seat. There is also a Bain Circuit switch that directs the flow of anesthetic gas to either the Bain Circuit (which can be left connected to the machine at all times) or the absorber. This eliminates the need to disconnect or connect hoses or tubing when using a Bain Circuit. A bubble barbed fitting can also be used to run tubing to a tank chamber for anesthetizing purposes. The exhaust tubing one-way valve tee prevents exhaust gases from backtracking into the pop-off valve or Bain Circuit when either is being used.
