This pad is a great alternative to the large welding blanket as it can be utilized in tight spaces whether you are working at home or on the job. This pad is made of a tear resistant carbon fiber called PAN. PAN has a temperature resistance of 1800 degrees Fahrenheit which allows extreme heat and flame to come in direct contact with this material. The pad will not ignite, char or shrink whilst welding or soldering. It is scratch free if you are working with it on delicate surfaces or covering fragile objects. However, please note it is not electrically conductive. We recommend using this when welding, brazing or soldering pipes in small areas. Simply cover objects or surfaces when welding to prevent splatter or sparks from damaging your space or other items. This product is also available by the linear yard and in larger sheets. Our High Temp Plumbers Pad is black in color with a weight of 16oz. per square yard and are approximately 1/8" (3mm) thick.
