This antique hit and miss engine is a two stroke engine and was used on railroad speeder's (crew car's) - Railway motor car. You can see this on - you tube as demonstrated or you can  Google - Fairmont Speeder. This 2 stroke gas engine can be reversed by killing the spark, throwing the timing lever over, and turning the switch back on while the engine is still turning. The speed is regulated by the throttle. I am guessing engine was made between 1930's and 40's. The paint looks all original. Enclosed engine has very good compression . Funnel on top of hopper is loose but can be tightened. I do not see any cracks or splits. On the front of hopper reads : Fairmont QB203-1, and on the throttle reads Fairmont C-8 the height of engine is 25 1/4" and 3 feet long and 23 3/4" in width. I have never run this engine, but all looks and sounds okay with the compression.  Sold as is. This engine is pick up only.  I can hold for a good month while you make arrangements if need be. at Derry N.H. Thank You and good luck.
