Additionally, the 3/4" double flatted shank is very rigid and offers up to 2 times the tool life compared to quick change tool mounting on other products. It can distribute the cutting load evenly to maximize feed rates with its up to 10 cutting edges, and produces a slug with higher scrap value than loose chips. Made from M2 high speed steel material, it boasts precision ground and fully fluted features that allow for better chip evacuation and improved performance in deeper holes. With a diameter of 11/16" and a depth of cut of 2", this cutter is part of the 12,000 series and requires a Hougen pilot #10531 for use with their magnetic drills. The patented Hougen edge geometry on this cutter provides faster and smoother cuts with less chatter, while the tapered inner diameter provides a relief area between the slug and cutter, resulting in a reduction of hosepower and improved slug ejection.
