Your purchase will be of an HP / Agilent 8447F OPT H64 Power Amplifier, plus 11940A & 11941A Close-Field Probes, an RF cable and what appears to be an adapter to allow use of the probes with this unit due to the different type of connector on the probes and included cable vs. the type of connectors on the 8447F itself. All calibration seals are intact (and appear legitimate -- we did not add any of our own) which implies that no one has tampered with any included item's interior since its last previous calibration (not current). We do not know what if any originally included items may be missing. What is included is shown in the photos; please do not assume anything else will be provided. We did find an "operation note" for what appears to have been an optional accessory (HP 11947A transient limiter) which per the manual appears to have been like a 'surge suppressor' for RF signals. We did not find that accessory in the case. However, none of the other 8447F units we saw as current or past listings on ebay as of the start date of this listing (either by themselves or with any accessories) seem to have included an 11947A as part of the 'package'. We will include that "operation note" along with the other enclosed documentation. The items included in this single lot listing (all in excellent used condition, plus 2 items noted as new in sealed bags) are: The main unit itself, the 8447F Power Amplifier with Option H64 installed, Serial No. 2805A02960 plus the following items.One 11940A Close-Field Probe, Serial No. 2650A02453. One 11941A Close-Field Probe, Serial No. 2807A01026. One new in sealed bag Amphenol brand RF cable, with fittings matching the connector on each Close Field Probe. Part number on label on the sealed bag: 95-530-99022 One new in sealed bag adapter, twist-on BNC at one end; other end covered by red plastic cap but appears to be a connector matching the Amphenol cable, so as to permit connecting a Close Field Probe via that cable to the apropriate one of the 8447F's BNC connectors. OPERATION AND SERVICE MANUAL MODIFICATIONS HP MODEL 8447F OPTION H64 MANUAL CHANGES (for Model Nos. 8447D/E/F) HP MODEL 8447a AMPLIFIER All Serials PREVENTION OF AMPLIFIER DAMAGE DUE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE [information would appear to apply to the 8447F as well] OPERATION NOTE 11940a CLOSE-FIELD PROBE [including two-sheet "MANUAL UPDATING SUPPLEMENT" not shown in the photographs] THE HP 11940A CLOSE FIELD PROBE: Characteristics and Application to EMI Troubleshooting OPERATION NOTE 11941A CLOSE-FIELD PROBE OPERATION NOTE 11947A TRANSIENT LIMITER [as mentioned below, while this manual is being included, no corresponding instrument was in the padded case and no such instrument will be part of this lot] Three of the above documents appear to be original staple-bound documents. The rest may or may not be originals but are all fully and clearly legible. All but one document (about the H64 option) are 3 hole punched. As all of the documents were found in a plastic bag in the "documentation pouch" inside the top cover of the padded case, and none show "wear and tear" around the holes, it does not appear that any of these documents were in fact ever stored in a 3 ring binder. Aside from an ink mark (shaped like a "check off" mark) on one cover, all are in mint condition. Note that this item is only marked "HP" and "Hewlett-Packard". The name "Agilent", which we did include in the listing title but nowhere else in this listing except in this paragraph, does not appear anywhere on the 8447F or on or in any of the numerous included manuals and other documents. The name "Agilent", which refers to a test and measurement division "spun off" of HP in 1999, in fact did not even yet exist when this item was manufactured, likely at some point after 1986 (one included document is copyrighted "1973, 1980" but all the others are dated "1986" or later; taking the information revealed by skimming the included documents it appears that this unit was manufactured not earlier than 1988). Ebay sellers, however, commonly include "Agilent" in the title of their listings of any HP test equipment made within the past 40 or 50 years, in order to influence search results (without ever to our knowledge explaining that that is what they did), so in order to be competitive with those other sellers on ebay we were basically forced to follow that tactic. CONDITION OF MATERIALS INCLUDED; RETURN POLICY: This instrument and its accessories all appear to be in excellent condition. As visible in the photographs, the fold-out "tilt-up" leg is present and functional. The instrument powered on. The amount of care with which this instrument and all of its accessories were stowed away in the padded fitted original HP case in which we obtained all items listed here strongly implies that it was deemed operational when last used and then stowed away in its case, and we are backing up this assumption with a 14 day no questions asked return policy so long as you return this item in the same condition as received (including without limitation all calibration and similar seals still intact). Any claim of externally visible damage must be reported within 2 business days of the date of delivery to your specified location, however, when it comes to a return "in the same condition as received", so be sure to promptly remove this item from the shipping box and briefly power it up in order to be able to submit such a claim to us. We do not, however, have the expertise to test this item, and do not want to open up the sealed bagged cable and accessory included, though if a potential buyer can suggest an extremely simple test that an educated layperson could perform in 15 minutes or less per directions provided by the buyer, with the buyer available by telephone to guide our staff through such a test, we will try to accommodate such a request. We will try to find a similar adapter and similar cable to help with such a test if requested, but if you are seriously interested we are willing to open those sealed bags.
