Purpose The PP6 punch and perforation module processes a blank paper web to continuous forms with sprocket holes, cross-, and vertical perforations. As an additional function it is possible to produce forms with file holes or customer-specific punches. Optionally a print unit produces register (top of form) marks for forms without sprocket holes or for printers that are registered by means of print marks. The punch and perforation module PP6 is installed in front of the printer and integrated directly into the printing process so that the acquisition and storage of paper forms is no longer required. Therefore, the PP6 helps reduce material and storage costs and allows quicker response to varying customers demands. Method of operation The paper web coming out of the unwinder is fed into the module by means of the proven S-pulling device. The file holes or the customer-specific punches are applied optionally in the first processing station. The second station contains the 24" sprocket hole punching tool, equipped with high-quality "long life" dies. The integrated suction mechanism of the file hole and sprocket tool exhausts the confetti through the tool and prevents the blanks from entering the downstream device, eve n at high processing speeds. Next, the cross perforation unit with fixed format perforation cylinders produces very precise folding perforations and can be easily equipped with different format cylinders. The dancer unit of the PP6 allows exact processing during acceleration or stoppage and gentle web transport by means of the large rollers. Special technical features The processing parameters and corrections can be set by means of the operating panel. The fully integrated exhaust device and web cleaning unit cleans the paper web reliably and guarantees trouble-free operation for the downstream devices. The confetti can be disposed of by means of an optional exhaust device or a central evacuation system. The perforation tools with fixed format guarantee a precise and safe process.
