IGC/APD Cryogenics CryoTiger Compressor   For sale- an IGC/APD Cryogenics CryoTiger Compressor, part number T1101-01-000-13.  Or -14, depending on which label you believe.  After I bought this thing I realized it didn’t have a fuse holder cap in place, and although I have quite a collection of them I couldn’t find anything to fit.  So for the moment I don’t have a replacement for that.  Without powering it up you have to wonder was the fuse removed on purpose to keep it from being used?  So I opened the thing up and managed to jump around the fuse holder with another fuse holder as pictured.  The thing powers up and the pressure gauge changes.  I was thinking it went up to 240PSI but now looking at the sequence of photos I think it instead went down to almost zero when it was powered up, as you can see in the pictures with no power it’s back at 240.  So without actually testing it in service I feel reasonably good about the odds that it is functional.  Also note that both the input and output connections are capped, I don’t think that anyone would have gone to that trouble if the compressor was shot.   In the middle of my testing and photo shoot I was interrupted, and by the time I got back to it I couldn’t remember what I did with all the screws I took out to open the thing up.  So the screws you see in it are replacements that don’t fit flush like the originals, which have now been found and replaced.  And again, you are either going to need to replace the fuse holder either with something that fits the original spot or bypassing it internally like I did.  I wasn’t all that comfortable with my work around so I removed it when I was done.   Untested other than as described, sold as is, and NO warranty is offered.  However, IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it.  Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases.  Accepted Best Offers are strictly an as is sale, no returns allowed.  Return would be for a refund of the purchase price, not including shipping costs.   Just so that we are clear on that, this is an item that has not been thoroughly tested.  As such it may work fine or it may have problems, so any purchase entails a certain degree of risk.  If you Buy It Now your risk is limited to the shipping costs both ways.  If you submit an offer you do so knowing that you cannot return it.  In either case it is up to you to decide whether the risk level is acceptable to you, and if not you need to pass on this particular item.   I have a couple of IGC Polycold Systems Cryogenic Adsorbers #264594C that were at the same auction so I bought them just to make sure that I wasn’t missing out on some critical part of the equation.  But they are marked “USED” so I don’t know if they would be of any value.  They are not automatically included in the sale, but if you want them all I ask is that you cover the extra cost of shipping as the boxes are fairly big.  Please check out my other listings for more interesting lab, test, and optical equipment.  Check back often!   Sold as is, as described, as pictured.  Potential buyers are asked to please make sure you have read the listing carefully, and understand what you are buying.  Ebay’s condition codes for used items, which I am now required to select from, might imply a degree of functionality that my limited time, knowledge, and facilities do not allow me to ascertain.  If the functional condition of the item is known it will be stated as such in the listing.  Unless a warranty is specifically offered returns are not accepted regardless of any implied functionality.   Payment is expected within 7 days of the close of the sale and I need to hear from you within 3 days to confirm the transaction.  Because of the weight and/or bulk of the item I have chosen to let ebay’s shipping calculator figure out the cost based on your zip code.  Alternatively I would be happy to ship it charged to your Fedex account.  I will under NO circumstances ship it UPS, the people there don’t seem to be smart enough to handle a shipment charged to the recipients account, nor do they appear to be smart enough to correct their mistake after the fact.   With increasing frequency the ebay shipping calculator seems to be incapable of actually “calculating”, instead it prefers to tell you that the zip code you have entered is invalid.  Unless/Until they can fix it the only thing I can do is to plug my zip, your zip, the weight and dimensions in at fedex.com to arrive at a shipping cost for your particular shipment.  So if ebay isn’t providing a shipping cost automatically, you can always go to fedex.com and estimate it yourself.  It would be shipping from a fedex terminal in 22902 in a box presumed to be 22x20x18, 85 pounds.  For reasons I am not entirely clear on the fedex calculator won’t allow shipments over 70 pounds, so I have used the UPS calculator instead.  Again, it will ship fedex ground, not UPS.   If the device being offered here requires a standard modular computer style AC cord I NO LONGER ship those automatically as most people have accumulated a box of them by now.  IF you need such an AC cord please request one when the item is purchased.
