Options ?May 27 2013 10:29 AM The 1800 supports SmartCable configuration and offers RS232C or USB connection to PC. BUT, the support also depends on the firmware installed. Please check the firmware (use RS232 cable with EasySet software) and possibly update the 1800 to a SmartCabel compatible firmware (see DOWNLOADS). If you still have problems provide the OS version of the PC and the 1800 firmware version. Did you follow the 1800 Quick Start Guide for the setup? It shows that the scanner USB cable must be inserted into PC BEFORE Power ON and you have to provide external power to the scanner.
