Description: Firestop 814+ is a UL Classified fireproof caulk that expands when exposed to fire or extreme heat, forming an insulated char. Firestop 814+ fireproof caulk will prevent the spread of toxic gases, smoke and fire. Firestop 814+ fireproof caulk will adhere to almost any surface and remains flexible, making it ideal for both horizontal and vertical joints, subject to vibration or dynamic movement. Firestop 814+ fireproof caulk can be used for interior or exterior applications, and can be painted over. Uses: Firestop 814+ fireproof caulk is designed to restore the fire ratings of walls and/or floor assemblies by stopping the spread of fire by filling the voids and gaps for electrical through penetrations, mechanical through penetrations, structural through penetrations as well as between fire resistance rated wall or floor assemblies. It is typically used in mechanical, electrical and plumbing applications to firestop openings created by the following penetrations in fire-rated floors, floor, ceilings or walls, metallic pipe, plastic pipe (e.g. pvc), conduit, power and communication cable, cable trays, busways, combos, insulated pipe and HVAC duct penetrations. This intumescent caulk is also used to firestop openings and bottom of wall construction joints. Firestop-814+ is a highly flexible, general purpose firestopping sealant that conforms to ASTM E-814 (UL 1479) standards for multi-family and commercial firestopping applications.
