Portal devices typically consist of readers, Request to Exit (REX) devices, door contacts, and door strikes or magnetic locks. I/O devices typically consist of alarm input devices, such as sensors, and annunciation devices, such as a sounder or strobe light.Johnson Controls, Inc. offers the following reader and I/O modules:•S300-RDR2 – Reader module that controls two fully configured doors. See Figure 1.•S300-SI8 – Input module with eight supervised (4-state) inputs.•S300-SIO8 – Input/Output module with eight supervised (4-state) inputs and eight outputs.•S300-IO8 – Input/Output module with eight unsupervised (2-state) inputs and eight outputs.•S300-I16 – Input module with 16 unsupervised (2-state) inputs. A supervised alarm input provides two additional states that indicate tampering to an external alarm device. Features and Benefits•Support of two fully configured portals using a single reader module•Supervised inputs provide 4-state monitoring•Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) relay outputs•Supports RS-485 communications with controllers•Easy installation in S300-XL/XS/XXS secure enclosures.
