Description This nifty device retails for $265 and acts as an interface and protocol converter allowing you to connect any analog telephone device to your company's Nortel PABX. Any phone with a regular RJ-11 plug can now make and receive calls on your office line. Office phones tend to be basic and have only have the features that your office manager thinks they want to pay for. Now you can connect whatever you want without having to pay top dollar for the PBX manufacturer's proprietary kit! Examples include Polycom and other conference loudspeaking phones Cordless phones Speed dialers Conversation recording equipment Broadcast console interface equipment Answering machines PC modems etc - so that you can access your dial up mail account via from your desk, if this is blocked on your LAN... This unit is compatible with Nortel Meridian M2000 and M3900, and Norstar M7000 and T7000-series phone sets. Note that to get the dual line capability working your PABX administrator may need to change some of the settings associated with your extension. Usually it can be operated in single line mode without your having to change anything on the PABX (in case your company isn't keen on you using your extension for dial up services for example).
