Easy installation and handling ? PC printer port wired through OmniDrive Professional is an external drive for various types of memory cards complying with the memory card standard. This includes SRAM cards, Linear Flash cards, ATA Flash cards, CompactFlash cards, ATA hard disks, SmartMedia cards, MultiMedia cards and SD memory cards. In addition to the standard PC printer port SPP OmniDrive Professional also supports the bidirectional PC printer port EPP. In fact, a data transfer rate up to 1 MB/s can be realized. The PC printer port is wired through and can be used for connecting additional external devices. OmniDrive Professional is designed for accessing different types of memory cards. The identification of memory cards and the selection of suitable access is automatically provided by the intelligent CSM driver software. Also, the type of flash chip used in linear flash cards is recognized. The Windows tool PC Card Manager providing a broad range of options for accessing memory cards is included in the shipping content: • Flexible Format Utility for SRAM and ATA storage media • Hex-Editor and Binary Copy Utility for all kinds of memory cards • Inspect and Repair Tool for ATA storage media The universal CSM programming interface (API) offers direct access to memory cards from own customized applications. This API is available for 32 bit platforms. Detailed information can be found in the CSM PC Card Software Development Kit that can be downloaded for free from the CSM website. Data security Exceptional data security is achieved by means of special precautions against electrostatic discharge, a watchdog and permanent checksum monitoring during data transfer. A robust aluminium casing protects the device and the memory cards inserted.
