We bought this MECS Robot (UTX-1000) and Controller (CS-1000) at auction and never tried to set it up. Except for minor cosmetic issues, the Robot and Controller look like new, but we've never operated it. So we are selling it with a 14 days return policy to give you time to check it out. Buyer to pay return shipping. This consists of: 1) - Robot UTX-1000 2) - Controller CS-1000 and power cord 3) - 1 manual in English "UTX-1000 Robotic Transfer Mechanism with the CS-1000 Controller; Operation and Instruction Manual" 4) - 1 manual in Japanese (I think) unknown content 5) - Please note the power cable is present but the cables between the robot and controller are missing. Robot and Controller have the same model and serial number label on them: Model UTX1110P; Serial 390305801 Here is the description from the manual: (Note that this robot does not come with an end effector.) "INTRODUCTION The UTX-1000 is a highly reliable, super clean transfer mechanism. The UTX-1000 design with it's up-graded speed and resolution features is suitable for 0.1uM, class 10 cleanrooms. Moreover, the UTX-1000 is designed to satisfy many different applications because of the compact 0-axis and it's versatile internal firmware. The UTX-1000 is operated using MECS' next generation controller, the CS-1000. Optional features include a separate teach pendant, and wide array of end effector designs (I,Y,W, etc. types). The complete system consists of the robotic module, an end effector design, and the CS-1000 controller. ROBOTIC MODULE The robotic arm has three axes of motion, each controlled by a closed-loop 5 phase stepper motor. The X axis motor extends or retracts the three link arm from a reference position. The O axis motor rotates the arm assembly about its center point; while the Z axis motor raises or lowers the entire arm. The end effector uses vacuum from a external source for object pick up with a in-line vacuum sensor for verification. CONTROLLER The CS-1000 controller contains the power and control electronics for the robotic module. It uses the latest surface mounted device technology on a multi-layer PC board. This allows for a more compact design along with greater capabilities. Unlike the older controller design the driver box is no longer needed. The controller's front panel contains a keypad to operate and program the robot, a LCD display to indicate operating information, and several LED status lights. Basic operations are pre-programmed in the CPU board's EPROM memory. An operator can access these operations through the controller's front panel. A host computer also can operate the UTX-1000 by issuing simple ASCII commands over a serial interface (RS-232), located on the back of the controller. This interface also is used by the Wafer Searcher. An optional parallel interface is provided adjacent to the serial interface. The controller plugs into the facilities electrical source and connects to the robot through two interface cables. MECS' PF-250 wafer flat finder is connected through the CS-1000, interfacing its operation with it's operation with that of the UTX-1000's. END EFFECTOR End effectors are available in standard I,Y,W, five finger, and P types. The end effector material can be ceramic or teflon-coated stainless steel. They can be coordinated with end effector supports in any size over the large range to meet different applicatoins. The P type hand has an internal optical fiber sensor to inspect for the presence of wafers (separated interrupt type sensor).
