Vintage Metalace Grille "A Revelation in Woven Metal" sample examplar of Grille No. 12. Unfortunately, I don't know a lot about this item, but it appears to be a salesman's or store's sample of a metal grill that could have been purchased, or possibly, this was an architectural sample. A steel metal grille sample, approximately 4"x6" is attached inside a cardstock folder. Folder measures approximately 9.5"x12". The metal sample itself is beginning to rust, but could easily be cleaned up by the buyer. Inside the cover and on the back of the cover are stamps with read "JAS. McKinney & Son, AGENTS, Albany, N.Y." In my limited research to find more information about this item, I could only find a scanned PDF brochure from Archive.com of a Metalace brochure showing photos of similar examples to this item. It appears the Metalace Corporation was based in South Boston, Massachusetts. I don't know the age/date of this item, but am roughly guessing it dates to about 1930-1960, if not earlier. This would make a great collector's find for the designer, architect, or building or construction professional! Winning bidder/buyer must make payment by PayPal within 5 days of auction ending.
