This was the first power source to use a three phase primary input to generate an AC output. This was traditionally and still most commonly done with a single phase power source. The Summit Arc has since been recognized worldwide for its ability to increase deposition rate over that of DCEP, decrease heat input at given amperages and still providing sound quality welds. Power source is capable of VBAC, DCEP, DCEN and CC/CV. Square wave technology allows smoother transfer with AC process. Priced at the same level as a standard 1000 amp single phase AC/CC sinusoidal power source. Excellent trail machine in a multiple arc application with added feature of being able to change percentage of DCEP and DCEN if needed for single arc applications or increasing amount of penetration or deposition produced with the trail arc. Phase shift technology allows stable arc conditions when using multiple arcs without the need for an expensive add on interface control. Balance, frequency and DC polarity are all controlled with a simple plug configuration. No need for expensive software and laptops in order to set up a simple weld procedure. When used with an HDC 1500DX you can control up to 12 programs that can be set to enable a multi-pass weld to be completed at one balance and frequency. No need to change power source on every pass to produce a high quality weld with increased deposition rates over DCEP. Three-phase primary power input reduces primary input amperage, input fuse size and input primary cable. Fan-On-Demand cooling system only works when needed reducing energy usage and noise. No external system interface control needed for multi-arc applications. In Multiple-torch SAW operations, PhaseShift Technology allows the Summit Arc to guarantee arc stability, by enabling the welding machines an ability to communicate and coordinate sine wave polarities and phase delays.
