Matchlessantiques offers collectors and smiths this HUGE MINTY 273 lb. Hollands NO. 18 Bench Vise. Hollands vises were made by the Hollands Manufacturing Company of Erie, Pa. They were in business between 1892 and 1898. The vise compares to some of the other well known makes of the day such as Prentiss, Charles Parker, Reed and Wilton. It has been said that the Holland vise was more popular some of the the major brands out there. Please take a close look at the pictures. The coke bottle for size reference is a 16 oz. bottle. This vise is marked "HOLLANDS, ERIE PA, U.S.A., 18”. The jaws are in mint condition. The screw is excellent and the nut is perfectly solid. There are absolutely no issues with this vise. One jaw does have the top corner nicked just a bit (see pictures). The body and top of the vise is like new and almost unmarked, where normally most big vises like this one have been used hard and show it.
