No middle man, no games, no tricks, and no surprises. If you have never tried the Real Abralon you will be in for a treat. It starts giving you the perfection where buffing long left off. It can be used wet or dry, but we recommend slightly wet. We sometimes use a waterbug, but just an occasional mist from a spray bottle will do the trick just fine. Although some care and caution is always in order, the built in foam pad helps to keep your edges safe and your surface pressure even, increasing the pressure on mirco-proud spots and decreasing it in the micro-low spots. It’s like fairing, but on the microscopic level. Slicker than glass is what you get. Buffing compound fills its own scratches with Silicone, making your finish look perfect right then, but a little sun or rain and the fine scratches and swirls are back. Not so with Abralon where you get a True Wicked Slick; Flawlessly Flat; Dead Perfect Mirror Refraction. How much of a commitment to “perfectionist” are you? – go to 4000 grit if you dare. Even glass is not typically that flat and true of a profile. We are primarily a wood boat shop. We are expected to have a “Yacht Perfect” finish on our products, especially our interior case goods, cabinetry, furnishings and other components. Yachters are some of the most demanding and discerning customers around. Abralon was the only answer for us. But on the weekend, I can’t resist taking the finish on my Corvette all the way to 4000 and wax or no wax, onlookers marvel and want to know my secret to that outstanding “pop”.
