Mitutoyo - 395-374 Spherical LCD Face Micrometer, Ratchet Stop, The Mitutoyo 395 series outside micrometer has spherical anvil and spindle faces appropriate for measuring the wall thickness of tubing. It also has a ratchet-stop mechanism, an LCD digital readout that converts between inches and metric with resolution to 0.00005 (0.001mm) for outside diameter (OD) measurement, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) data output to transmit results to a computer or external device. The output jack transmits SPC results to a computer through an interface cable (sold separately). The micrometers electronic microprocessor can hold measurements at any position, convert to absolute value, set a temporary zero position, and return to a true zero reading. The electronics housing has an Ingress Protection 65 (IP65) rating, for protection against penetration by dust, liquids, and coolant up to the force of a low-pressure (to 30 kilonewtons/meter-squared) water jet. The steel frame has a black, heat-insulated finish, and the thimble and sleeve have a glare-free, satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The micrometers knurled friction thimble and ratchet-stop mechanism to help provide uniform pressure for precise, repeatable measurement during adjustment. A lock nut helps ensure quick spindle locking. The unit comes with an SR44 battery and a fitted plastic case.
