The National Instruments PCI-5431 card is a video waveform generator, offering a single 12-bit resolution output channel. It has an impressive output of up to 8 MHz sine and transistor-transistor logic (TTL) waveform output, and up to 1 MHz square, triangle, ramp up, and ramp down, as well as DC and noise. The software allows the user to select output impedance of 50 ? and 75 ?, output attenuation levels ranging from 0 dB to 73 dB are also available. The National Instruments PCI-5431 card also features phase-locked loop (PLL) synchronization to external clocks, sampling rate up to 40 MS/s, 8,000,000-sample onboard waveform memory, and waveform linking and looping for arbitrary waveform generation. The card is also embedded with digital and analog filters, with function generation implemented with 32-bit direct digital synthesis (DDS). The National Instruments PCI-5431 also has an external trigger input and marker as trigger output, as well as 16-bit digital pattern generation with clock.
