Features: Connects to NEC PBXs and KSUs Handles on-board media processing Provides calling and called party information Retrieves LCD/LED prompts and indicators including message waiting lamps Provides positive disconnect supervision (if supported by switch) The Intel® Dialogic® D/42-NE2 PCI board is a four-port DSP-based voice board in a PCI form factor with an on-board interface for the NEC Electra Professional* Level II key system unit (KSU), NEAX 2400*, and 2000 IVS* PBX series. It emulates four Dterm* Series III electronic telephones. The D/42-NE2 PCI board can answer incoming calls, record and play back voice files, detect and generate tones. Call progress analysis algorithms and frequency analysis let the D/42-NE2 PCI board make outbound calls, detect when calls are answered, and distinguish between different network signals. When used with NEC PBX and KSU switches, the D/42-NE2 PCI board provides a flexible platform for developing integrated call processing applications. Developers can integrate current applications on the D/42-NE2 PCI board with minimal software modifications and create more efficient applications through the use of the unified application programming interface (API). With the correct switch software load, application programs using the D/42-NE2 PCI board can access called number identification for calls transferred from the switch, access trunk identification for calls originating outside the switch, and control message waiting indicators for message notification. The D/42-NE2 PCI board also features positive disconnect supervision (NEC Electra KSU only) to immediately detect when a caller has hung up. The D/42-NE2 PCI board shares a common hardware and firmware architecture with other Intel® Dialogic® boards for maximum flexibility and scalability. Features can be added or systems can grow while protecting investments in hardware and application code. With only minimum modifications, applications can be easily ported to lower or higher line density platforms. The D/42-NE2 PCI board installs in IBM* PCI and compatible computers (PC platforms based on Intel486™ or Pentium® processors). The D/42-NE2 PCI board occupies a single expansion slot and up to 16 boards can be configured in a system. The maximum number of lines that can be supported is dependent on the application, the amount of disk I/O required, the host computer CPU, and power supply
