Here is my NEMA 14-30P, NEMA 14-50 and full KVA plug to  6-50R welding plug adaptor. It allows you to plug a welding machine or plasma cutter with a 6-50 plug into new styles of 4 prongs outlet and also plugs into the "full KVA" receptacle on engine driven welder generators. The cord is 40 feet long, it is a "3/10ga SOOW 600 volt" cord. This one is a 4 prong range plug with the 3 prongs you actually need for welding machine operation installed. The 4th prong which serves no purpose on a 4 prong range to 3 prong welding plug adaptor is just simply removed. If you look closely at one of the pictures you can see where the unneeded 4th prong is located. Removing the 4th prong makes it so the same plug can fit a 30 amp 4 prong clothes dryer receptacle and a 50 amp 4 prong range receptacle. If you want I can install the 4th prong, it will be there but wont be hooked up to anything or do anything aside from making it so you can only plug it into one kind of receptacle. Pictures are examples. Picture 1 gives you an idea what the item looks like. Picture 2 show you a close up of the types of plug and receptacle I use. The wire used is brand new CCI brand SOOW spec 600 volt cable. The item pictured was about 20 feet long, this cord will be 40, so imagine double that much cord. (the wire in the picture is not CCI and is used). Picture 3 and 4 are of the cord used. You only get 40 feet off that 250 foot roll. The metal housing to the plug is ground. It is only intended for indoor use in dry locations. Do not use NEMA 6-50 series on machines that use line to neutral/ground power for lights or fans. Do not use this adaptor on anyting that uses line to neutral power like clothes dryer or electric range. Any machine like a welder or plasma cutter that came with a NEMA 6-50 cord from the factory does not use line to neutral power line to ground power unless there is a short cirucit or falut with the machine. If you want to plug your welding machine into a 14-30 clothes dryer outlet, because that's all you have and you flip your 30 amp clothes dryer breaker absolutely under no circumstances should you remove the 30 amp clothes dryer breaker and install a higher amp breaker. The circuit breaker is there to protect the wiring inside the walls. If your welding machine is flipping the breaker, that's because its doing its job and you need to turn the machine down. This cord can supply 30 amps continuously and 50 amps intermittently at a 40% duty cycle (4 minutes on, 6 minutes off), most welding machines have a 20% duty cycle (2 minutes on, 8 minutes off) at full power. I offer optional Surge protection for $5: Transformer based welding machines are very rugged and not much kills them, power surges really don't effect them. They could be struck by lightning and will likely still work fine, but turning on the welding machine and starting and breaking electrical arc creates power surges that effect everything else plugged into your service drop. Since the welding machine runs line to line power it is effectively on the same circuit as everything in your house. Also if you have a more expensive solid state inverter type welding machine or plasma cutter, they don't create power surges as bad but they are susceptible to being damaged by a power surge. My line of welding surge protector cords can help protect the expensive control boards and solid state power switching devices found in more advanced machines or protect other devices in your home. I installed this exact same power surge protection set up in side of all my machines, so I know it works. Now I offer a cord version of it. I can add the $5 for the surge protector in the invoice, just request an invoice after purchase and message me that you want the surge protection added. Use "buy it now", complete checkout and pay for your item before noon MST your purchase will go out on the same day. If not, it will go out the next day the post office is open. You can "get if fast" and have over night shipping, if money is no object. Overnighting a medium flat rate box is rather pricey. Need a custom adaptor? Or international shipping?
