This auction is for 79.5grams of 99.9% NEODYMIUM metal pieces in mineral oil.   Great to expand element collections.  Neodymium is not stable in air for extended periods of time, and its metallic color will dull due to the presence of the oxide which is off-white.  Google: "Rare-Earth Metal Long Term Air Exposure Test" for a great visual on how Lanthanide metals will oxidize if left in the open air.  With few exceptions, Lanthanides can be handled in open air for short periods of time with little to no adverse effects.  Neodymium shows oxidation after a few days.  The sample you receive will have slight oxidation as seen in the pictures, but it is very superficial and can be removed with a wire brush.  It still retains much of its metallic sheen and is stored in a vacuum desiccator prior to shipment.
