New Brunswick G-24 Environmental Incubator Shaker   For sale- a New Brunswick G-24 Environmental Incubator Shaker.  The good news is that it heats and shakes.  The bad news is that it looks a more than a bit rough.  Specifically as you can see it has a fair amount of rust on top.  I am guessing you could sand and spray paint the top in less than half an hour and pretty much have that much taken care of.  And if you look at the control panel area the POWER indicator light works but looks like they broke the cover over it, and their solution was to cover it with Scotch tape, a less than elegant fix.   This is the digital version of the G-24, looking at some of the others offered I saw at least one that had the older analog speed/temp readout.  In the SPEED setting the display seemed to work fine although I have no way of knowing if it was accurately notating the actual speed.  As pictured with the knob at a bit past one o’clock it was reading 272; when cranked up to max the number went up to 432.  When switched to TEMP however the display was initially way low, which is why I was assuming they taped a regular thermometer inside the viewing port.  Then it occurred to me that if the temp reading wasn’t accurate the thermostat might not work.  So I left it dialed to 40 and waited to see what would happen.  When the temp got to 37 degrees according to the thermometer the thermostat started cycling the heat off and on.  By then the digital readout was up to 35.5, so although there was still a discrepancy it wasn’t huge, and possibly if you left the thing to stabilize at a particular set point maybe the digital would be on the money.  Maybe not.   So to summarize I think the thing is working OK as long as you don’t mind referring to the thermometer to achieve a desired temp.  Not much to look at as is although the interior looks decent.  Should also note as pictured the AC cord strain relief has come out of the back of the unit.  I have priced the flaws into the equation, as well as the fact that given the shipping costs involved a return is not all that practical.  To offset that I have spent more time testing the unit than most of the other ones listed, so hopefully there will be no unpleasant surprises.   Please check out my other listings for more interesting lab, test, and optical equipment.  Check back often!   Sold as is, as described, as pictured.  Potential buyers are asked to please make sure you have read the listing carefully, and understand what you are buying.  Ebay’s condition codes for used items, which I am now required to select from, might imply a degree of functionality that my limited time, knowledge, and facilities do not allow me to ascertain.  If the functional condition of the item is known it will be stated as such in the listing.  Unless a warranty is specifically offered returns are not accepted regardless of any implied functionality.   You are also encouraged to visit my “ME” page, where my terms, conditions, and philosophy of doing business are outlined.  I don’t think anything there is outside the bounds of normal e-commerce, but they are binding on the transaction.   Shipping will be motor freight on a pallet unless you would like to come pick it up.  I would estimate the shipping weight at around 150 pounds.  I would estimate the freight cost for that at between $120 and $250 to the east and west coast respectively.  Residential deliveries, deliveries that require liftgates, deliveries to the boonies, and deliveries to schools or universities will all be more because it takes longer for the carrier to get the job done.  Shipping will be via Old Dominion Freight Lines, which has done a consistently good job getting my shipments where they are going without roughing them up.  I will be happy to quote you for the shipment, but I need to know the zip code, residential or commercial, and whether a lift gate will be required.   If you would prefer to use another carrier that’s fine .  It will be shipping from a warehouse with a loading dock in zip code 23093, but I do not live there!  I require pickup confirmation the day before and your carrier must provide an emailed printable copy of the Bill of Lading so that there is paperwork available for the driver to sign when he gets there.  The BOL should have all the info filled out when I receive it, blank copies are unacceptable.   I can ship this to Canada via Old Dominion, but they do not offer customs brokerage services, so you would need to have your own customs broker lined up before it shipped.
