This article highlights the features of a newly introduced product – Certified Non Barrier 1/2" - 1000' coil - RED PEX for POTABLE Water Use. The PEX tubing is NSF certified, which meets the stringent ASTM specifications. It is rated for a maximum pressure of 160 psi at 73 degrees, 100 psi at 180 degrees, and 80 psi at 200 degrees. The tubing is manufactured using the silane method, which involves immersing it in a water bath. It is important to note that PEX tubing should not be used in applications where the temperature could exceed 230 degrees F or more. It should also not be used with steam, kept in direct sunlight, or placed in areas exposed to a flame or heat source. Additionally, the tubing should not be used with liquids -40 degrees F or below. The PEX tubing comes in four different sizes, each with its own inside diameter, outside diameter, and volume. The sizes include 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", and 1". The NSF Certified PEX tubing can be connected using two methods, namely crimp fittings and push-fit fittings. The crimp fittings are the most effective and cheapest way to connect the tubing and are the least susceptible to leaks. On the other hand, push-fit fittings are more expensive and more likely to result in leaks.
