Whether used at 1G or 10G rates, bi-directional testing is essential for assessing a network’s capacity for voice and video traffic. The Performance Test Remote provides a cost-effective way of instrumenting multiple points in the network with a 10G device for performance testing, network assessment, and validation of critical, high-performance links. The instrument comes with both copper (100/1000/10G) and fiber (1/10GBASESR, 850nm multimode SFP+) network interfaces. Alternatively, different SFP+ modules may be used for different standards/distances (LR, LRM.) Specifications: Battery Type - Rechargeable lithium battery pack Temperature: Operating - 0° C to 50° C (no battery installed) Operating - 0° C to 40° C (lithium battery installed) Charging - 0° C to 40° C Storage - -40° C to 71° C Safety: IEC/EN 61010-1 Operating altitude - 13,123 ft (4,000 m) 10,500 ft (3,200 m) with ac adapter Storage altitude - 39,370 ft (12,000 m) Part of the Versiv family The OptiView Performance Test Remote is a new high-performance network test module on Fluke Networks’ modular Versiv™ test platform. Versiv expands testing capabilities through the addition of new modules as testing needs evolve, providing total flexibility for copper or fiber cable testing and certification with the DSX-5000 CableAnalyzer™, CertiFiber® Pro and OptiFiber® Pro OTDR modules. Network Technicians can use the OneTouch™ AT Network Assistant 1T-3000 module for access-layer user network connectivity and performance troubleshooting on copper, fiber and Wi-Fi networks. (See ordering information for the OptiView Performance Test Remote and 1T-3000 module kit.) When not being used for performance testing, the OptiView XG Remote can be quickly converted into any one of these instruments with the replacement of the optional slide-in module. OptiView XG – “Best” A second OptiView XG provides the best performance overall as a test endpoint, with its capacity for eight bi-directional streams at up to 10 Gbps. When not used for performance testing, engineers at the remote site have the most powerful tool available for local wired and wireless troubleshooting, assessment, mapping and more. A dedicated tablet for automated network and application analysis, OptiView® XG is the network engineer's fastest way to see root cause. With the enhancements featured in this latest release, Fluke Networks has made solving network and application performance problems even faster, added flexibility for instrumenting a network for performance testing, and simplified the process of assessing and documenting networks. “The OptiView XG is always our starting point. It helps collaboration, gives the insights we need to make a case for upgrades or plan for deployments, allows us to test new implementations in real time, and quickly troubleshoot and fix problems as they arise. We look to this device first so we never waste time or money.” - Trent Spencer, network manager, City of High Point Unpublished Datasheet: OptiView XG Network Analysis Tablet - Version 11 Software Release and OptiView Performance Test Remote About Version 11 Supporting distributed users and sites is difficult at best. When problems happen for remote users, many organizations lack the visibility needed to solve the problem remotely, forcing network engineers to travel across town, across country or even internationally to get to root cause. This is a significant drain on time and resources, and takes critical staff away from working on key IT projects. When deploying new equipment or technologies, on your own or on a client’s network (in the case of service providers and system integrators), knowing ‘what is normal’ and how the network is configured right now – as opposed to using outdated documentation – is critical for fast troubleshooting, and successful technology rollouts and projects. With version 11, Fluke Networks expands the analysis capabilities of the OptiView XG and solves these issues with key enhancements. Conducting Network Performance Tests (NPT, introduced in v10) provides a clear assessment of network capabilities and quality. Now, network engineers have a “good-better-best” network instrumentation strategy for performance testing and remote site troubleshooting. From the ability to instantly deploy software test agents anywhere in their distributed networks, to an economical alternative for full line-rate 10 Gbps instrumentation, version 11 and the new OptiView Performance Test Remote provide complete flexibility in performance test endpoints. Whether used to validate carrier SLAs and QoS, resolve performance problems in local or remote site networks, detect problems caused by internal traffic policing, and resolving performance problems with their VoIP phones, OptiView XG provides end-to-end network visibility for troubleshooting and network assessment. Mapping a network used to be a chore involving hours of manual labor to trace and record network links, interfaces and devices. Now, version 11 delivers automated network mapping! Interact with your network with the new map-based discovery user interface on XG, and – with one click – export that map to Visio for instant documentation, saving hours of time and hassle. Lastly, now Android users can take advantage of the HeadsUp XG app, to get problem notifications in the palm of their hand – connecting their phone or tablet to their OptiView XG for instant visibility of network issues, speeding response time to urgent problems. Automated network mapping The faster engineers can “see” what is going on in their network, to know who is on the network and where they are connected, and what the path is from “here to there”, the faster they can get to root cause when troubleshooting performance issues. Using OptiView’s patented discovery engine, users can now interact with their network in a flexible map-based user interface to quickly visually identify configuration and topology issues, speeding troubleshooting. Documentation is an essential step for any project, such as pre-deployment network assessments and new technology rollouts, but it can take too much time to complete. From the graphical map-based user interface, one click sends the map data through a Visio file generator, creating instant, professional network documentation. Ideal for enterprises or service organizations, OptiView XG’s mapping function saves hours of manual labor, allowing documentation to keep up as the network changes, or provide instant maps for client projects. Map-based Discovery user interface Automated Visio map generation Enhanced packet capture and traffic analysis As a highly portable instrument, OptiView XG excels as a mobile data collection point for line-rate packet capture, anywhere in your network. Now, with the Sequential Store-to-Disk feature, engineers can capture and save multiple trace files from multiple incidents or longer time periods for later analysis, helping to ensure that the necessary packets are captured. Also included with this release is the latest version of Integrated ClearSight Analyzer (CSA), v9.5 which includes: Wireless LAN traffic support – Now, CSA provides decodes of encrypted wireless LAN traffic in trace files captured on the OptiView with AirMagnet Wi-Fi Analyzer. SSL decode support – decode of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) packets. RADIUS protocol support – Radius protocol analysis with a Radius filter, allowing the user to filter by application, code type or user-id, for fast analysis of user authentication issues. DHCP protocol support – graphical flow view supports DHCP and adds the protocol in UDP filters. WireShark V1.8.3 decodes Problem notification – HeadsUp XG™ mobile app Stay connected and informed with the mobile app, HeadsUp XG – now available for Android. Get problem notifications and explore XG's Problem Log from your Apple® or Android™ phone or tablet. Available from Google® Play (for Android™) or the Apple® App Store, free for OptiView XG users.
