This means that the original installed RO membrane - (which is a consumable) will no longer be usable, due to aging. (Unused RO membranes have about a 2 year shelf life.) New replacement RO Membranes are available either from Millipore or from APS Water, or from us - at additional cost. APS water manufactures and sells these membranes at a substantially lower price than Millipore.
