NEW Science Kit Contents: battery jar, glass thistle tube, permeable membrane, thistle tube clamp Procedure: Fill the bulb of the thistle tube with molasses and replace the membrane. Fill the jar with water and place the tube in the jar so that the end with molasses is submerged. Water will diffuse through the membrane into the molasses, causing water to rise up the tube.
