NEW PRECISE JIG GRINDING HEAD (MOORE ADAPTER) INVENTORY # 3425 MODEL: JIL A large company (Deutch Relay) ordered a new Moore jib grinder. It was a year on delivery so they bought this unit to hold them over. For some reason, the Moore jig grinder came in almost immediately and of course they started using it. The Precise head is extremely high quality and appears to have had almost no use. Only one or two stones have been used and they show almost no wear. An adjustment slide is built into the head to rough adjust to the size of the hole, final fine adjustment is built into the head. For final size, this adjustment is .00040" for each division on the adjusting unit. Including: · 1 - Moore jig borer shank · 1 - #2 Morse shank · 1 - Moore jig borer straight shank bore · Bridgeport, Morse and other shanks are available - B&S, 30, 40 & 50 · 3 - Collets · 3 - Setting gages · Max RPM 45,000 (Variable) · 220 Volt · Quill concentricity .0003” · Diameter adjustment .00040” per division ADVANTAGES OF THIS ELECTRIC HEAD, PER THE MANUFACTURER'S DETAILS: Applicable to Jig Grinding and Micromilling a strong electric 1/2 hp electric motor. A very rigid quill Very accurate hardened grown radial slide ways. The wider arbor bases readily and rigidly attach the unit to jig borers milling machines and other machines. The radial feed head permits very small and precise increments of infeed (.0001”) while the unit is grinding or milling. An adjustable hardened stop limits radial in feed to a prior set size. This is handy when micromilling bores of identical size. A knurled set screw is used to lock the slide, a desirable feature when extremely accurate sizing is done or when sparking out. Since the radial infeed may also infeed continuously a combination of this feed with the vertical infeed of the machine tool spindle may be used to grind internal tapers. The Precise unit gives HIGH SPEED, HIGH TORQUE, and excellent rigidity, not possible with air motors which have the LOW TORQUE and low efficiency of air motors. Quoting the Manufacturer's Specifications: Using PRECISE mounting arbors, the jig grinder is quickly and securely attached to jig borers, vertical and universal milling machines as well as to special machine tools. You will maintain tolerances well within .000,1" and surface finishes well under 10 micro inches (provided you have a good machine tool to mount into).
