The knife block is 99.9% perfect. There is one tiny flaw that does not affect stability/usefulness, but I want to mention it since it's such an expensive set. On the side/base of the knife block, where the joint is, there is a small line where the wood glue didn't adhere the two pieces together. You can add a bit more if you'd like, but the knife block is still totally solid. You won't see it from the front when the knife block is set up, and it can barely been seen from the side. If you look at the underside of the block, you can see the spot that could use more wood glue. See photos.
