Overview for the Nikon Construction Theodolite w/Vertical Axis Compensator (5 Second Accuracy) The Nikon NE-103 5 Second Theodolite features vertical axis compensation (very important) that diminishes costly errors during angle measurements. This optical instrument has 5-second accuracy, large dual LCD displays and keypads and a built-in reticle illuminator, making it ideal for general construction, alignment and layout applications. Vertical Axis Compensator This advanced surveying tool is equipped with a tilt sensor and vertical axis compensator that monitors for any shift and automatically corrects vertical angles for small tilt errors. Featuring superior Nikon telescope with 30x magnification, the NE-103 allows surveyors to perform different positioning techniques, such as 90-degree layout, checking angles, alignment and plumb, short-range grade work and leveling with great precision. Built-in optical plummet and detachable tribrach ensures quick and easy setup. Dual Display and Keypad With five easy-to-use keys - four to perform all common functions and a fifth to control the backlit LCD displays and reticle illumination, this Nikon theodolite provides one-button operation and bright text display. This also enables you to perform instant conversion of vertical angles to percent of grade, reset the horizontal angle to zero and lock the horizontal angle displayed on the LCD while repositioning or repeating a measurement. Work in Low Light Environments Keep working outside from dusk till dawn with the Nikon NE-103’s built-in reticle illuminator and two backlit LCD displays. These features allow construction professionals to work inside buildings as well as in tunnels, mines, and other environments with little or no light. Rugged and Reliable With a higher rating of IP-56, this survey tool is dustproof and protected against water jets and heavy seas. Unlike other instruments that require specialized batteries, NE103 uses six alkaline batteries to operate up to 47 hours. It also has a battery life indicator that provides a visual reminder of battery status for reduced downtime. This Nikon theodolite package comes with a hard carrying case, adjustment pin, hexagonal key, objective cap, dust cover, plumb bob, AA batteries and 2-year manufacturer's warranty.
