Nortel Norstar 8-Port Analog Station Module (ASM) M0X8A / MOX8A Part Number NT8B51CA For MICS Refurbished This item is an 8-Port Analog Station Module, for the Avaya / Nortel Norstar (sometimes called Meridian Norstar) MICS (Modular Integrated Communications System) phone system. Complete with power cable, wall-mount bracket, and the connecting fiber cable. Complete with 90 day warranty from Trumpet Systems - see below for details. Connect this unit to your MICS phone system, and you will have 8 analog ports. It's like having 8 of the Nortel Norstar Analog Terminal Adapters (like model NT8B90), all in one convenient wall-mount box ! This Analog Station Module allows you to connect analog devices to your Norstar MICS phone system. You can then program what capabilities the analog device will have, the same way you program your digital Norstar phones (like the M7324, M7310, M7208, M7100, T7316, T7316e, T7208, and T7100). You can allow long distance, or deny long distance, you can allow the device to access a certain phone line, or to access your outbound line pool, etc. These types of devices can be connected to this Analog Station Module: Board Room conference phones, like the Polycom, or like the RCA conference phone that we are currently selling on ebay Credit Card / Debit Card terminals Fax Machines Fax Modems Computer Modems, including such modems as the modem for the ADP weekly payroll (up to a speed of 33.6 Kbps) Postage Meters (some of them require access to a phone line to download postage) Entry Phone Systems (like you may see at a multi-unit commercial building or at an apartment building) Elevator Phones Emergency Phones (install an analog Emergency Phone, programmed to call your building Security Desk, or your Alarm Company, or the on-call cell phone, in the event that a staff member has issues after hours) Lunch Room Phones / Lobby Phones (why put a $200 digital phone in an environment where the phone may be abused or vandalized, use a cheap $20 analog phone instead, and throw it away if it gets damaged) Hotel / Motel Room Phones (why use a $200 digital phone in the hotel / motel rooms, where they may be abused or vandalized, use a cheap $20 analog phone instead). Patient Room phones (for hospitals, clinics, or hospices) Etc. This Analog Station Module also has a loop-through port, where you can connect another Analog Station Module, allowing you to use only one fiber port on your MICS system, to run up to 16 analog extensions (as shown in the photo - the loop though port is labelled as port 2). Included is the Nortel Fiber Cable (required to connect this unit), which runs between this unit and the main MICS system. Your MICS will need to have at least one port available in its 2-Port Fiber expansion module, or its 6-Port Fiber expansion module, or its 6-Port Combo Fiber expansion module (if you need more fiber expansion ports, or if you need help figuring out what your system's fiber port capacity is, let us know and we can help you with that). (Caution, power-down your MICS system first, before you connect this Analog Station Module (or any expansion devices), to prevent causing damage to your MICS system.) Also included is the wall-mount bracket. This unit is the same height as the rest of the MICS components (about 24.5 inches). This item is sometimes referred to in the telecom industry as a "0x8", or as a "zero by eight", or as "NTBB51CA" (if the 8 on the unit's label is a bit blurry.... the part number really is NT8B51CA, but some people read it as NTBB51CA). This item is fully refurbished, by our factory-certified technicians here at Trumpet Systems. We have been installing, repairing, and doing on-site service on Norstar products since 1983, the year they were first designed and first manufactured ! We know Norstar like the back of our hand. The item shown in the photos is the actual item that you are bidding on, with the exact serial number shown on the white Nortel label seen in the photos. The front of the unit is slightly sun-faded as mentioned above in the item specifics, because it was installed in a customer's phone room which had a window in it. A little sun-fading does not affect the performance of the unit at all !
