This is a really nice original Fairbanks Morse gear guard.    It was used on the early ignitor fired 3hp Model Z engines with the Sumter rotary magneto and possibly the 6hp as well.    It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind.  It has a wear mark on the bottom from rubbing on the magneto gear but this won't be seen when it's on your engine.  It is 1 inch wide and mounts with one hole under a main bearing bolt.   If you've been looking for one you already know how tough they are to find.  They're not that easy to make, either, so here's your chance.  It  is ready to go to work on an engine or would also be a good spare on the shelf.  They don't come along very often in this condition so don't miss it.  The pictures tell the story.  You won't be disappointed in any way.   Good Luck.
