Oliver heavy duty lathe with out-feed mount for large bowl turning and long bed - 3 phase. Don't be too afraid of 3 phase as capacitor converters are available and relatively cheap especially if you are wanting a heavy duty lathe with direct drive.  I'm investigating making my own using parts salvaged from inoperable appliance - potential relay and a starting 70uF capacitor. I used this lathe to make spindles and table legs up to around 36" long. Toolmark Duplicator that fits on the bed of this lathe is included in the pricing. I also have some quick connect tooling for bowl mounting and turning other items that fit on the spindle inside the bed. The duplicator is manual meaning you have to move the cutting tool across the pattern yourself advancing the point into the stock at an acceptable rate...that takes some learning experience but it isn't a hard thing to do, just tedious. I also use it to make "racetrack" mouldings for Victorian drawer/door fronts using the tooling I am providing. Those some cutters also produce straight moulding sections on a table saw that runs the moulding head. The maximum diameter is the swing off the bed but I did circles up to 8" with no problems. The desirability of different speeds is high because of the variety of sizes and materials you may want to spin...600-3600 is quite a range and I believe that's what this one will do. It requires 3 phase power to operate the direct drive motor but phase converters are available to make it operate from single phase 220VAC house power...I'm investigating making my own using parts salvaged from inoperable appliance - potential relay and a starting 70uF capacitor. I also was able to turn 1/8" mahogany beading in strips using a method I learned from a metal worker by capturing the finished bead into a tube. The hollow spindles allows for the stock to be fed through the motor itself. If you want to do bowl turning, I've seen where an outside tool rest can be configured attached to the heavy lathe stand legs. It's built for stability and is not a toy to play with doing light projects...anchoring it to a concrete floor would be best but I have it on castors for mobility You can arrange for your own shipping and I will assist from my end with what I can reasonably do. It breaks into the legs, the bed, and the motor for transport. Shipping at your choice of shipper and expense.
