California orange growers LiNDSAY orange growersThank you to all the people who have purchased the ends , so far. This is my last crate end IT WAS A TOTAL EXPERIMENT IN MAKING THESE ORANGE CRATE ENDS INTO end tables , or coffee tables ----but the experiment got cut short.by progressive M S wood surround is 2" thick pine. Wood is best sanded , altho int still looks good partly sanded This is an example ( only partly finished , needing legs , and a cote of liquid polymer ( available at Home hardware , Canadian tire , or any good hardware supply. ) ONLY listed to show some wood craftsman that a unique table top can be produced using the whole orange crate end I will sell this part table as-is , but the postage may be prohibitive? -------------all my orange crate ends are original ,on original 80+year old wood ends ( not photocopies) -------------- This was done many years ago as an experiment --sort-of a curiosity you might say after researching other sites like KIJII and ETSY ,I came to the conclusion that a unique table could be produced for more money than just selling the ", artwork". Unfortunately my M S developed to the point that I could no longer stand ; let alone handle a table saw. Possibly some craftsman could "pick up the ball" and use some of the orange crate ends now "UP"? in a creative way FOR [PROFIT----There is nothing like on any web site I know please ask questions if interested , I'd be happy to help. This is one of over 50 different I salvaged from Booth's Hobbies estate. ( only 15 left) Booths had a hobby shop on the Dundas rd , just around the corner where I worked for Maple Leaf Mills , at junction Rd Toronto When the Booths died , their son liquidated the store and I helped clean it out ---- All their shelving on three floors was ORANGE CRATES ( typical thrifty "Brits") Needless to say , storage for this many crates would be next impossible; so ,I took all the ends off and varithaned them ,to preserve.
