The top of the receptacle has a 1-1/2" opening, which is large enough for disposal of cigarette butts and ashes. It also dissipates heat when lit cigarettes are disposed. The opening is covered to keep rainwater and trash out of the container, and it has molded graphics to indicate where cigarettes should be disposed. A removable 4-gal. galvanized steel pail sits inside the base of the container to collect disposed material. The receptacle's broad base keeps it from accidentally tipping.
