Up for auction is this 21 inch Vintage USED BRASS OXY/ACET powered OxWeld Torch from the USA. Stamped on the handle on the name plate it says.."OxWeld" then "OxWeld Railroad Service Company" The name plate also has other names stamped on it but I can make it out since it is worn a little from usage. Also it is stamped "Box Co." past the handle by valves. The tip is stamped "OXWELD" #8". On the neck it is stamped with a number, 14388 and on the upper neck from there it is stamped, "NX". I do not know what all this means...however, if you are looking at this auction you know more than I do. I am told that after rebuild, these types of torches bring in a nice buck. These types of torches are re-buildable again and again from what I am told. This item is priced right. I have tried to describe this item the best that I could with help from my son and a couple other resources. This item shows wear. All the valves move freely and the trigger moves and locks. This item is untested, my son took the pictures for me and he used to rebuild these torches with his father in Indiana for the salvage yards and other companies in Fort Wayne. He said these types of torches are very collectable and still widely used today and that you should rebuild this torch and buff it real nice, then test it after that before you use it. The rubber gaskets wear out or get dry rotted if it sits for a long time. Terms of sale; Payment is due within 3 days of auction's close. World wide Shipping!!!!
