Description: New Old Stock (NOS). Vintage, carbon-composition brush assemblies for a very large electric motor. The original buyer purchased these heavy-duty motor brush assemblies for use in the private development of electric automobiles. The Helwig Red Top motor brush assembly is a patended (sic) design which permits uniform distribution of spring pressure to the two halves of a split, carbon-composition brush. Each half of the brush assembly delivers electrical current through a heavy, stranded, copper cable. The pair of stranded bare copper cables are swaged into a single, non-magnetic, block spade terminal for connection to your motor. The working face of these brushes is angled. They are designed for applications with a working angle of 60- degrees and a brush-holder which is 0.988-inches wide by 0.620-inches. The carbon portion of the brush assembly is two (2) inches long. The spade terminal has a nominal thickness of about 0.040-inches, and a nominal width of about 1/2-inch. Stranded Cable Description: Each of the two stranded, bare copper cables noted in the description above have a nominal diameter of about 0.100-inch, and a nominal length of about three (3) inches.
