PEEK 1000 (polyetheretherketone) is a tough, strong plastic that offers excellent chemical resistance and withstands high temperatures as well as sterilizing techniques such as gamma radiation, hot water, and steam. The material also provides good resistance to impact, wear, and abrasion. PEEK 1000 absorbs minimal moisture. The most notable characteristics of plastics are its low weight, machinability, corrosion resistance, and typically good thermal and electrical insulating properties.
