What is a Pelican Head? "Pelican Head" is the informal name for the slicer/shredder/grater attachment that can be added to most commercial grade electric mixers, meat grinder motors, choppers and power drive units. It gets its name from the chute that resembles the beak of a Pelican. This attachment allows you to operate a busy restaurant or kitchen by taking advantage of your existing power equipment by utilizing it to chop, grate, shred or slice an array of raw food items such as most vegetables and of course cheese. The Pelican Head attachment mounts securely on the locking hub. You then select the Disc Holder (and preferred size of disc) for shredding or grating. Discs are available in six sizes from very find grater size (ie. parmesan cheese) up to 1/2" for course shredding. For slicing vegetables you use the slicer knife in the unit. The knife is adjustable for slicing vegetables from 3/16" - 1/2". We offer the Pelican head in FOUR purchase combinations. 1) The attachment only 2) Attachment with Disc Holder (discs sold separately) 3) The attachment with the slicer knife 4) The attachment with both the Disc Holder AND the slicing knife. All four combinations are listed in our store in both the #12 and the #22 sizes. Shredder and Grater discs are sold seperately in 6 hole sizes. We will add to your order for no additional shipping. This attachment is an economical way to turn your heavy duty mixer or meat grinder into a slicer, grater or shredder. You can add the slicing holder to this attachment.
