Take one tablet for direct dissolution in deionised water on stirring, adjust to 1000ml and a PBS pH 7.4 buffer solution is ready in about 5 minutes. The product gives you a PBS preparation that is fast, easy and always correct. The blisterpack takes little room on the shelf compared to the alternative chemicals and is stable in dry shape for 5 years from production date. The buffer is isotonic and non-toxic to cells and has the ability to maintain their osmolarity. Thereby the buffer is suitable for washing procedures in cell cultures and for immunoassays such as ELISA and immuno-histochemical procedures. It is often used for sample dilution in molecular biology and as protein diluent in Western blotting. Furthermore, the buffer can function as an equilibrator for gel filter columns (1). Medicago’s PBS is specifically developed for immunological and microbiological laboratories. Article 09-9400-100 is provided as pre-weighed tablets in containers. The container contains 100 tablets each respectively to be added to deionized water and adjusted to 1000 ml for 1x Phosphate Buffer Saline (PBS) pH 7.4 preparation.
