For Starters let me tell you I have absolutely no clue what this item is or what it does or is supposed to do and neither does anyone else we have asked--everyone just agrees that it looks important and expensive. I have never seen one before, I bought it at an auction because it looked like it was something important and I figured someone could tell me something about it, but so far no luck, so if anyone out there has any idea please let me know so I can add some more info on this item. Right now I don't even know if I have it in the correct categories, I just typed in Plato-Solder Therm and these are the categories that came up. This is a Plato Products INC. Solder Therm Unit. It has a Charger and it does power on but that's as much as I did with it since I don't know what it is supposed to do, I didn't try anything out on it other than flip the ON switch. There is a Calibration Assurance Tag on the top dated 9-2-92 and also 4-21-93. This unit is mounted into the bottom part of the carrying case. Please if anyone knows what this is let me know, it's been driving me crazy. Selling as is. Will deliver via Fed Ex, weight is approx 13 lbs.
